Remote wire

Hey guys,

I think my remote wire is messed up on my kenwood HU. It decides when it wants to work, which isnt very often. Anyways, I was wondering if i could connect the wire up to the +12v ignition instead? Since the battery wire would keep the amp always on and kill my battery. Figured I would double check on here before I fuked anything up. Thanks!

You can hook it up to your ignition (red) and it'll work just fine.

Are you sure it's connected to the right remote wire now, tho? If the problem is something like the amp only turns on when your listening to the fm radio chances are you connected it to the power antenna wire. Kinda see this fairly often...

kenwoods are known to have a blue and a blue/wt wire. IIRC you want the one with the wt stripe?

Both of those mentioned, check.

If still a problem, yes you can use the +12v ignition. Fuse it.

I originally thought it was on the wrong on too. The amp doesnt turn on for radio or anything. Thanks for the help though guys
