Remote Wire

I would use a mulitmeter if you have ran your remote wire to an amp or straight off of the headunit. Put it on the voltage setting and connect the positive lead to the remote wire and the black end of the multimeter lead to ground.

Straight from the headunit to the amp, it just doesnt make sense the results I get trying this.....lol thats why I am asking..

On a side note when I turn the car on I here a screetch noise for like 2 seconds and the amp goes into protect

I just got it back from repair!! Remote wire reads 13.8, ohm load at the amp reads 2.3, Power wire at the amp reads 14.6. but when you hook the remote wire up it makes that high pitched squeel then goes into protect...

thats what I think, but the repair man (shallowfu) said he tested it and it was fine, so I want to know whats the problem, internals look fine.....he doesnt answer much on here or aol, so that makes it even worse, he said transistors get stuck or somthing and if you just tap on them it will cure the problem, I have no clue what in the hell he is referring to, so any help would be much appreciated

thats all fine and such, but I JUST GOT THE AMP BACK FROM REPAIR!! Do you really think I want to pay shipping and repair again to someone else, considering it was supposed to be fixed when I got it back?

I have talked with him numerous times, he said it tested fine after repair and he used it, he claims you tap on some resistors or somthing, but I was checkin everything over and over again to make sure I wasnt at fault.
