the remote is a "signal" produced from the headunit when the ignition/radio is switched on, and is sent to the amplifier, telling it to power up. there is no sound produced through this wire. only voltage, and very low voltage at that. Can sound come into an amp through the remote? I had neons hooked up to the remote and an amplfier and when i would turn my volume on zero you could here the engine noise through the sub, but when you turn the volume up it goes away completely
It had better not be ny lower than 12V or the amp won't turn on. It IS low current and I'm sure that's what you meant. More often than not, engine whine is a product of a bad HU ground. This bad ground causes the HU to seek a lower resistance path to ground which ends up being through the RCA signal cables and then through the amp's ground. This type noise can usually be fixed by regrounding the HU to a solid piece of metal behind the dash.the remote is a "signal" produced from the headunit when the ignition/radio is switched on, and is sent to the amplifier, telling it to power up. there is no sound produced through this wire. only voltage, and very low voltage at that.
the engine noise was probly due to a bad ground on the amp or you had crappy rca/power wires.
yeah, that's what i meant. thanks for the correction. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifIt had better not be ny lower than 12V or the amp won't turn on.
