Remote wire to Battery?

I was wondering if i could run my remote wire for my amp directly to my battery. Would i need an on/off switch in the wire? My mom drives the car somtimes and she want to be able to turn it off then.

why would you do that? your amp would always be on......yes you can put a switch in there but why

no all you do is run a switch through your remote wire and that will turn you amp on and off

No, run the remote wire to the remote out on the back of the headunit. You can then install a switch on the remote wire to turn it on or off, but if you run it directly to the battery you will have problems because the amps will always be on, and you will kill your battery.

connect your remote wire to the blue wire with white stripe coming from your deck.....somewhere in line add a $3.00 toggle switch...get the one without the blingy lights so only two connections...tie it in line with your remote wire...one side to deck the other to amp...then you can switch the amp on and off FTW //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The car is an Impala, and theres no remote wire on the stock radio so i dont know what to wire the remote wire to.

you can wire it to an ignition controlled accessory spot that is currently not being used in your fuse box......you should probably fuse it tho

connect it to anything on the acc circuit and wire a toggle in parallel.
