Remote wire on Cd player

hey man

i think youll find that if your remote wire is blown your amp wont be turning on

there is a fuse in the remote wire so you can try change that

alternatively you could see if there is 12V flowing between the end of the remote lead and an earth just to see if its stuffed

I have the same problem and I was told it was the preamp from the head unit that fried out.My amp lights up and I have spark in both the power and ground and my RCA's also have power.I tested a used amp and A brand new amp and have the same problem with both...

i got a Pioneer Cd player 4500 i think my remote wire is blown out because my amp does come on and my power wire and my ground wires are hot. if my remote wire is brown out can that be fixed
Not unless its a fuseable link inline or in the headunit... other wise you'll need to have it repaied..

To test this and find out for sure if your Remote tun on wire is working correctly; Get yourself a Cheap Tester, looks like a scewdriver with a small LED or Bulb in it, that has a wire comming off if it, usually the wire has an aligator clip on it... You ground the wire comming off, then touch the scewdriver or testers other side to the turn on wire... Turn your head unit on and if.... The tester should light up accordingly...

If it lights up... Remote wire is good, move on to amp. Also if the remote wire tests good at the headunit, verify continuity of wire from headunit all the way to amp remote tunrn on terminal... It could have got pinched.

If it doesn't light up at the head unit. There is your problem....

Hope this helps..

Let us know... Always good to add to the knowledge base...

And if you do find that the remote wire is blown, you can always just tap into a circuit that comes on with the ignition (same as where your HU memory wire is located). Just be sure to fuse it if you go this route.
