Remote turn on

Alright so I just put in an amp for my girlfriend and I'm using the stock head unit. Using the stiffer sng11 for a loc. I have everything hooked up, but the head unit has no amp turn on. Is there something else I could use as a remote turn on? Passenger air bag wires? Cigarette lighter? Or do I need to wire up to the fuse box? It's an 07 cobalt.

I would just use the ignition wire for the headunit. You should be able to get the wire for it online somewhere. If the car is on the amp will be on, though if you turn off the headunit the amp will still be on. Not that big of a deal

I Hooked it up to one of the speakers and I turned the car off and the amp stayed on so wouldn't hooking it up to the ignition 12volt source be constant?

First off the wire to your speakers is AC current the remote turn on is DC current. The ignition wire isn't constant it's only on when the key is turned. There is the +12v constant and the +12v ignition
