Remote turn-on wire for TWO amps??

Hi, all.

We've got a 1995 Beretta, in pristine shape (35,000 miles on it - looks brand new both inside and out!) that we use as a third/winter car.

A colleague's son is going to borrow the car for a few months, until his father can buy the new model Honda Civic for him.

For a project, I'm installing an audio system in it. I have a good friend who is more or less giving me the equipment (he is a VERY good friend ). I have a blast installing this stuff, and would love to do it for a living if I didn't already love what I do.

I've never used two amps in an install - usually, I've used a five or six channel amp. This time, I've got two amps. My question is, how do I turn on the amps by remote turn-on wire? Do I just run a Y-adapter from the single remote turn-on wire from the head unit? What gauge wire should I use?

Thanks so much for the input - GREAT forum you guys have here!

For those interested, the equipment is:

Sony CDX M8805X head unit

Phoenix Gold Octane 4-channel amp (5.0:4)

Phoenix Gold Octane 2-channel amp (2.5:2)(bridged, for sub)

Infinity Kappa 3-way 6x9s for the rear deck (man, those rear seats were a ##### to get out!!!!)

Infinity Kappa 4x6 fronts, in the stock locations.

Phoenix Gold 12" Octane sub in a sealed enclosure (I'm also going to try fibreglassing for the first time - I've done it once before with speaker pods, but never for a sub!)

Thanks everyone!!!

WOW. That was unbelievably fast.

Sorry to keep on about it (my knowledge of this stuff would pale in comparison to the average mildly retarded garden slug) - so, do I run a single wire all the way to the first amp, and then DIRECTLY off the remote turn on terminal on the first amp, I run a wire to the remote turn on terminal on the second amp (i.e. - run the wire in series to the second amp)?

Thanks you guys - amazing forum, this is.

@Decipha - I will certainly send you pics, but it might be pretty disappointing - it will be VERY basic - all speakers in stock locations, sub will be glassed into a corner in the trunk, amps will be screwed to the back of the rear seats. Nothing fancy. Remember, it's for a colleague's son, and I'm just looking for a little project //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks again, everyone.

so u run the REM wire from the HU to the REM input of the first amp. now stick another wire into that same hole, and run that to the REM input of the second amp. hopefully thats clearcut.
