remote starts

If you want extra-long range or have a manual transmission, look into Compustar. Their range beats all the Directed units (Viper, etc) and they can be used safely with a manual.

The new version of the Viper 791 that hits the shelves in Sept is ALEGEDY better and more consistant range than the compustar. Until I use them myself I wont support nor deny that claim
everyones range is better than everyone elses on paper. i would pick some other major brands over that viper though, until it thoroughly proves itself.

DEI has definatly been known for making some "Exagerated claims" in the past but for the alarm side there is definatly no alarm I will take over a DEI unit, same goes for add on units like Prox, tilt window modules and RS interface modules. I definatly prefer them over anything else I have used

i prefer compustar or clifford, just a personal preference though.

the range on all the directed one is horrible. i have seen 100 dollar flea market remote starts have better range. plus anything in the way will not let the signal through. but other than that they are fine. easy to use and relaible
