I have a remote starter installed in my car right now. However when i start my car its just the engine that runs. I was wondering if it would be possible (and safe) to some how change it so my stereo also starts when i start the car with the remote.

thanks for any help

You can switch the accessory input on your head unit to an ignition wire that the remote start is currently powering. That will allow the head unit to turn on when the vehicle starts, but it won't work with the key in the ACC position any more. The other way to do it is to add another relay to the remote start system so that it activates the accessory circuit as well as the ignition circuits. If you tell us the remote start brand/model and the vehicle year/model, we can tell you how to do that.

Personally, I would rather the radio stays off when my vehicle is remote started. It's not like I'm going to be out there listening to it.

not sure what brand starter it is it came on the car when i bought it, the car is a 97 ford taurus

i dont usually start up the car with it other than when im walking to it since i have to park it about 1km away i just think it would be cool to be walking out and have it start along with the system

If you can't hear it while you're walking to it, what's the point? If you can hear it while you're walking to it, for God's sake turn it down. I just don't see a benefit to outweigh the hassle of changing it.

yup, really no point other than i think it would be nice to do sitting around the car or talking by it be able to turn it on and get some tunes
