remote bass knob setting???

Gain at 0V is all the way up. Assuming that the remote is a remote gain and not a bass boost control, set your gain with a DMM with the remote all the way up. That is your max volume and it will keep you from overdriving things. You can then turn it down from there with the remote. that is the intended function of such remotes.

Exactly. most bass knobs (gain adjustment types) just take your gain setting as their max setting, and turning the bass knob down any is simply like adjusting your gain lower. For this reason, set your gain with the bass knob disconnected (as if it wouldn't be used), or just leave the bass knob set at maximum while setting your gains permanent.

Yep that's their correct and intended use. Bass knobs are like having an adjustment for 'amplifier headroom'. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
