Remote Bass Control Knob?

I'm gonna push 2 JL 10W3V3s with a JL Audio 500/1v2 mono amp.....do y'all recommend the RBC-1 bass control knob?

I have always heard..and believe.. that a bass knob is a waste. They do more for distortion than anything. Adjust through your H/U or eq.

That's what i do now with my current setup. I've just got a cheap *** Sony 10 n a sealed enclosure that i borrowed from a friend until i got my JL setup done. It's just that the RMS wattage of the amp is the max that JL recommends for those subs (i've heard they will handle more than the max) but i just wanted to make sure i wouldn't hurt the subs and if there was more control with knob or just convenience.

Yeah, i just disconnected my bass knob. (d6 1000.1 powering 12'' D6. Sounds a bit louder and cleaner.
