remember that "iraqi kids running for water" video?

The U.S. Department of Defense is investigating at least two video clips that appear to show American soldiers in an unfavorable light during contacts with Iraqi children, according to a report in the British newspaper, the Metro.
A clip found on YouTube titled "Iraqi Kid Runs For Water" appears to show U.S. soldiers amusing themselves by watching children chase their truck in the hope the soldiers will make good on their offer of a water bottle.

"You want some water? Keep running," shouts a soldier, who laughs at the scampering boys. He asks, presumably whoever is taping the scene "Are you getting this?"

Another video features a soldier complaining about orders forbidding him from using deadly force against rock-throwing youngsters.

The Internet has spread uncensored images of war to the public like never before. Donald Rumsfeld, the outgoing U.S. Secretary of Defense, has suggested the U.S. military is not well prepared to fight a propaganda war in the Internet age.
serves them right! i hope they are dishonorably discharged!

Oh great, another oppornunity to hang our soldiers out to dry. Give those guys a break. They are over there experiencing shit on an every day basis that one could never image if one hasn't gone through it. I love how our media loves to portray our soldiers in the most negative light as much as possible, makes me sick.

And you want them to get discharged for making some kids run for water? WTF is wrong with you.

that was messed up tough

what are you talking about? so when soldiers torment local civilian children there just letting steam off?

and how is the media portraying the soldiers in the most negative light as possible? i dont see this article all over cnn or msnbc?

i dont care who you are or what happend to you, its not right to pick on little kids who are literally so impoverished they would run a near mile for a simple bottle of water just to have it snatched out of your fingertips

happy now?

yeah, it was messed up, but so is life in Iraq. i don't think we should really judge them.

I'm not saying its right to torment kids (might be fun, but probably not 'right'), but its not **** or murder.

they shouldn't get dishonorable discharge, maybe they should have to attend some sensitivity training or something. Sitting threw 40 hours of some BS hippie class would be brutal enough IMO //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I bet its hard to serve there and not end up hating all them and their country. I mean we put them in a hellish place, under loads of stress, somethings bound to happen.

Oh shut the **** up.

I know several Soldiers - and none of them are that sick and depraved they would make children run for water.

The video in question is a case of soldiers being assholes. Wether they have kids throwing rocks at them or not- you don't tell them they can have water then make them chase a truck. Just don't let them have the water.

Case in point- because someone's dad used to beat em up is it okay for them to **** women to feel powerful? A little extreme yes- but its the saem ****ign thing- enabling morons because of the shit they have been through is a supposed reason.

Thats an /thread

Edit- This is not me saying iraq isn't hard- its just doesn't make it right to torment little kids.

exactly, i live in fayetteville, one of the east coasts largest bases ... 3 of my high school grad buddies have served tours in iraq, there not anything like those people in the videos, there good honest people... i showed them the video and sure they laughed but they also agreed that it was wrong and if they were there they wouldve thrown a mre to the kids or something

so all you ****s talking about how hard it is in iraq , quit ur *****ing, u joined the army knowing what you were gonna do, thats not an excuse to be a complete jackass ...
