I just find it ironic that you obviously find it regrettable that some will not be open to the christian faith because of the actions of some christians, and yet you seem to distance yourself from "religion" because of what some have done in the name of religion. I am not trying to sharpshoot you at all. I just thought I might point something out about your position that you did not realize.
I never thought that you were opposed to going to church. I still think that you define religion to narrowly. And I also think that the definition of religion you have adopted is the work of Mr. Satan.

actually, i distance myself from religion because i do not want to be a hyprocrite. how can i convince people to live a christian life if i myself do not live one.

Where a lot of people are confused is they focus on the word religion which is only the act of doing something over and over. Now developing a relationship with or believing in Christ is another thing. To anyone that believes that there is no God, I can prove wrong. A lot of people believe in the big bang theory but the molecules that collided had to come from somewhere. Anything that has a design there has to be a designer. To believe the human body was created by chance would be insulting my intelligence. Christ is real and and Christ is true. Mikeoftulsa dont distance yourself from God, but go to Him. None of us are perfect so none of us can judge. You dont have to try to convince someone to live the Christian life all our job is to tell someone the Good News that we can be saved through Christ Jesus. The fact that this post exist explains it all.

what ever happened to faith? i had a fortune cookie the other day that read, "those who have strong beliefs are strong, those who dont are weak." makes a lot of sense to me.
