I'm not gonna waste hours of my life reading through this but I figured I would add to it a bit... with MY view on religion! Yay!

I believe in a higher being, I believe in Jesus Christ. BUT the way I see it, the bible is a book that has been around for THOUSANDS of years, and changed time and time again and translated and yada yada yada, and IMO taking it literally is retarded. Now I do think there are some messages and stories in there that are relevant, and maybe at some point in time, there was a messenger from "god" that used the stories in there to "show people the way" in a time when they probably couldn't comprehend most of what he meant so he put things into words and stories that they would understand. I don't go to church much, and consider myself a non-denominational christian. I do believe in god and jesus and try to be a good person and live a good life. I don't know who or what "god" is, and I don't think that "he" can hold my not believing every word of a book that has been put together by power hungry people and listening to what power hungry people have said over thousands of years against me in the end. If I am a good person and live a good life and help others, there is absolutely no reason that I should not get into "heaven" whatever it may be. And if I don't because of that then I don't want to because the reasons for getting in don't make any **** sense. Saying that we should live for god is bs, that makes him human, why would god want us to live for him if he is all powerful? I have had religious awakenings and I believe in god, but I don't believe the bible. O BTW it seems like to me that if you were to combine all religions in the world today and make a variation/compilation of them you would probably have it about right. The main reason I believe in god is that we had to have come from somewhere, and if we came from a "big bang" than why the hell is it so hard to believe that there is a god?

Man created religion. God created man and asks that we follow his rules. there are far to many "religious" people in the world today that live their lives how they want mon-sat. then put on a good show for God on Sunday.

DcTalk put it great in one of their songs.

The biggest single cause of atheisim today is Christians that acknowledge Jesus with their lips and live their lives how they wish.(or something to that effect)
