Killing millions, is a joke gone bad? Well, let me rephrase that....killing millions because they looked a certain way, not even with the slightest clue if they really WERE JEWISH. blue eyes, blonde hair...your jewish, thats all there was to it. I hope you yourself were joking.

but there is nothing in the bible that seems true to me other than the common sense respectful way of living your life. aka: the golden rule. thats really all that thick *** cheap papered book says away from the stories of random occurances, that are SAID to happen. History is based on facts and proven happenings, correct? If this is so, how can you look at the bible as being even a "hstorical half-truth". your right about other religions but it seems like you said...they follow the same general "there is a higher power so we need to live FOR it. not BY the general "be nice" rule. They just throw there own mix on things (not eat beef, pray 5 times a day or whatever it may be.) When it comes down to it, all religions are is old stories. Its like something you believe but its so old you were never there to witness it. Like I personally think that I would be better off in the 50's making shit with my hands, driving a 29 ford chop top and a flat head, but thats my BELIEF. I hate all these "machines" that are building things for us, it seems as though people have no skills anymore for the most part, nothing is hand made. That being said...I dont and never WILL KNOW if I would of been better off in that time period because well....I will never experience it, or see it, same goes for religion.
People say they have "seen god" but all that shit is, is that they had a good day and something great happened to them.

history itself is just a bunch of stories written on paper by man, not facts. just like the bible, the torah, but not so much the qur'an. fact is, abraham was a real person, just as real as the egyptian empire would be years later. sure there is a lot of stuff in the bible that is hard to believe, but you have to take it for what its worth. just like you said, its storytelling. What better way to tell a story than to fascinate the reader with tales of extrordinary events. It's no different than any action film with an underlying theme.

fact of the matter is, religious books were how people kept history up until recent times. if you can prove the egyptians never existed then your point might make sense, otherwise its just rambling.

you know what i mean on the meat comment. and the egyptions existed, theres proof of that. But my whole thing is, there is no PROOF of some holy god that ruled everyone. the thing is with more current history, is there IS proof to back it up, but theres no proof that this holy man was walking around doing out of the ordinary things (ie: healing the blind and deaf and handicapped or whatever it was) I dont feel (if this man was around) he was no other than a normal human.
