Refurbished Amps?

depending on WHO refurbed it, absolutly. it cracks me up how many people will buy an amp that has been fixed by say db-r (JUST AN EXAMPLE PEOPLE) but wont buy a refurb done by the manufacturer, lol

I am not sure why you insist that a factory refurb would be any better than a dB-r refurb... factory refurbs don't always = new board or even decent quality repair work. A lot of them are hack jobs, I get them in my shop all the time. The owner will be pretty upset usually when I inform them that their "factory refurbished" amp was "refurbished" in a less than acceptable manner.... but what can I do about it? Just do a better job than they do, and that's what I do.

I think the problem here is that you come off as being a guy who says he does a better job than all the factories. Of course i'm not saying that that's how you are representing yourself, but it is easy to interpret as such.

It is easier just to say that some companies don't do a good job on refurbs since you have seen many come through and they were far from done right.

Just my .02

polecat might say different about Kicker refurbs
I can honestly say I don't ever remember a customer sending me a kicker amp and telling me that it was a refurb. Maybe once, and it was probably the customers fault that it got messed up.

I get really tired of people telling me how to word stuff... If you can't interpret what I am getting at by reading my posts I am so sorry. I haven't seen a good factory refurb ever that I can remember unless it was a reboard. That being said, if they did a "good factory refurb" it wouldn't have ended up in my shop, so there you go. Take it however you want to take it. Second time I have had to say that when the word polecat was mentioned. What is it with you people? Are you all a bunch of lawyers or something?

I'm not telling you how to say anything. But don't get mad when someone interprets it wrong. I could care less what happens between you and polecat/kicker or whoever the fuck else. My comment about polecat was merely a joke. But you yourself see what happens when someone does not interpret what you say clearly.

LOL point taken... Just seems like a lot of people go on the defensive towards me anytime Polecat is mentioned.... I have a very good freind who is a lawyer and he would say something like people seem to say everytime polecat comes up.

the only reason people say that is because he used to frequent this forum and represented Kicker. He's the only one known for representing a mainstream company here, so that's why his name come up is all. I have never even talked to the guy, online or not

With all that being said has been said:

If you are going to buy a refurb from ANY company, you better ask around about how good THEIR refurbs are before you go buy. Not all refurbs are good. Not all are bad.

If you have a question about whether or not I personally have seen a certain factory refurb, email me or PM me, don't do it here in the public, the polecat ninja lawyers will come out of the bush's and woop up on dB-r....

Disclaimer: Whatever is stated by dB-r on this forum is simply dB-r's own personal opinion, use it at your OWN RISK to make decisions, or don't use it at all, whatever you do, don't take what I say as "the word of GOD". It's just my opinion.

If i buy a bad refurb, it's on you man

LOL. Sometimes it just seems like there is nowhere on this planet that you can go anymore without being "P.C." (politically correct). Polecat reamed my *** for spouting my opinion about their subs and some of their amps problems that I have seen, here on this forum, and the changes to them over the years. I don't blame him really, I would do the same if someone gave a bad review of one of my refurbs. Shit happens. Everyone's trying to make a few $$$. Got to pay for $4 a gallon gas, $5 a gallon milk etc. Whole worlds going to crap and if I can stop one caraudio.com forum user from buying a crappy refurb amp then I will have made a difference. Even if it's a small one. LOL.

P.S. I just got to watch out for those ninja's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
