Staples is not going to help you CALL HP and ask them it may be that the disk you have is missing stuff or that the computer will not accept it and only accept the recovery disk from HP "I have seen this before on Acers in the early 1990's."

Well my computer doesnt make a beep ever while booting up. But Ill try right now to boot it up while just constantly attacking those 5 keys during boot and see what happens

I apologize. I was unaware that PC manufacturers built custom hardware for their systems and didn't license AMI or Phoenix BIOS chips now.

Ok, tried esc, f1, f2, f10,f12 while botting, didnt do anything. F8 brings up these options though:

Safe Mode

Enable Boot Logging

Enable VGA Mode

Last Know Good Configuration

Directory Services Restore Mode

Debugging Mode

Reboot

Return to OS choices Menu

So if you select ANY of those, it brings you to another black screen that says

Please select the Operating SYstem to start, with the only option being Windows XP Home, and thats for ALL of the above options.

Im stumped, but im stupid

I forgot Esc as an option. Might have to use the Shift key. What model HP is it?

Dont do it while booting, an HP should be F1, F10 or DELETE. Start hitting the keys as soon as you turn the PC on, don't wait for the monitor or beeps. at the very worst, it will cause "Keyboard Error" with should offer "Enter Setup" or "Enter BIOS"

Yay I got it into bios mode, but I think what you guys aretrying to get me to do is already done.

I obviously dont understand much in those screens but found this:

1st Boot Device: Floppy Group

2nd Boot Device:Cd rom group

3rd Boot Device: HDD Group

Wasnt it just that the cd had to be above HDD? I still dont get why its giving me that message about partitions when I try and run the setup right off the burned disc I made

Your disc isn't bootable. Bad ISO or bad burn.

Even with that partition message it could be a bad file or bad burn? Doesnt mean anything is wrong with my computer?
