So I'm ripping apart my 15" Fi Q getting it ready to attempt my first recone. I finished removing the glue/gasket from the basket and went to remove the spider material but am having some difficulty with it. Wondering if there is any trick to this, or should I just grind it all down with a dremel?

thanks in advance.

I used to use a straight die grinder with a sanding cookie but it has been may years since I ever reconed anything but an IDmax. If you can sand it with a dremel it might take a while but if a razor is not working you gotta do what you gotta do

Yeah, I was able to sand down the gasket on the basket no problem, but the spider is obviously much more rigid and is a lot tougher //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

LOL - mine was a higher end model too - iirc deh-9300. Low mileage too, it was sitting around for year collecting dust.

One or two, they are still subwoofer outs and are mono summed signals from both left and right. Even the 2 RCA subwoofer pre-outs on the 2nd one...

Nothing to add to this, Just wanted to say good luck and that I miss MiniDisc. OH!! Is that a Japanese Radio Tuner or does it get stations in the US?
