Recone

I have a couple questions about the reconing process. I just bought my new sub but in a couple months i might be looking into buying a blown motor and having it reconed. so heres my question.

if I buy something that looks like this..

Can i send that in to the company to have it reconed? Is that all i need to send or just that?

Im struggling to ask what im trying to ask...along those lines

Before buying a motor check to see if it can be reconed.

Some companies do not offer recones for their subs.

Some subs can be reconed by a 3rd party.

Some subs can be reconed by the original equipment manufacturer.

Cheaper subs generally cannot be reconed, it would just not be cost effective.

and my last question here...do i have a choice as to what size it gets reconed as? i thought the basket size would limit it to being a 12, 15, 18...

you could get a new basket the size you want and then get a recone

iirc, when you send in motor for a recone, i think its $10 more for any size basket?

haha iirc...i learned somethin new too. i checked the sticky but just quickly ran through it. i would prefer not to learn how to recone on an expensive sub and honestly i just dont have the time.
