Hey everybody. Lately, I've been researching pretty hard about all of the mechanics and physics that go behind a subwoofer and it's performance. In my personal opinion, I think hands-on approaches are the best way to learn - they just help me the most. Anyway, my brother mentioned that he'd blown one of his subs - it's an old 12" Pyle subwoofer that he used to run in his car. Now, I realize, that being said, that you guys are already thinking 'Ohh, Pyle is garbage, don't use their crap', but please, let me do a little bit of explaining. I want to start reconing and repairing subwoofers to gradually get a better and better feel to working with them. If this sub can be repaired, it probably won't even be used, I'm just doing this for the experience of doing work on subs. Anyway, like I was saying, it's just an old 12" Pyle that blew and seized up on him. I'll include pictures below, but basically this thing is stuck, the coil is totally unwound and jammed inside the bottom of the driver, as you see below:

Now, my question is this - can this subwoofer be repaired? This is my first repair job, should this be attempted after I've acquired a little more experience? She's pretty much stuck in there, how would I go about undoing everything and trying a repair job? Any and all input is appreciated, guys. Thanks.
EDIT: Well, I actually got the coil out, I was almost amazed. Should I order some sort of a recone kit for a smaller sub, or should I like, order all of the parts for this thing online?
