Recommended wire gauge

OK, I have my 4 channel amp running to my components at 115 RMS x4 w/14 ga speaker wire. I am planning on adding a 10" JL running off a RF mono at 300-400 RMS. What's a good gauge wire to run to the sub from the amp, and should I upgrade my 14ga wire runing from the 4-channel amp? I run SQ, so I don't do anything too loud. The amp will be about 1.5 ft from the sub. All the power is running 4ga.

Your fine with the 14ga for the 4 channel amp, it wouldn't hurt to bump it up to 10 or 12 ga on the sub though.

I'd go 10 gauge, as it's pretty cheap. Just a few feet of it won't put a dent in your wallet, and its better to be safer than sorry. For the comps, 14 gauge is definitely fine.

14ga all around will be 100% fine
