Recommended sub for an upgrade

Size preferred (if configuration allows):12 inch

Budget: 150$ CAD (120$ USD)

Power to be used (which amp(s), include which resistance): 400 watts RMS 4ohm

Space available (take measurements, do not guess): not really needed, already have planned enclosure

Listening habits: rap hiphob

To add, I currently have a Sony XS-L124P5B. I was thinking getting Pioneer TS-W311S4 but people are telling me it's not really an upgarde.

so is your amp a 2 channel? if it's a mono amp get pioneer 3003 pro $75 usd.. much better than either of those will take over 900 rms and has 96 db rating so it will work on 400rms be better 6-800 though., it has dual spiders so it can take a while to break in (it'll get louder every week lol).. are u doing ported or sealed box? they only come in 4ohm dvc so must have mono amp that does most of it's power at 2 ohm (or at least 400rms)

I have a 2 channel amp bridged. It's a MTX MXA4002.

I was thinking of getting sealed prefab box since prefab ported boxes are not really optimal?

if u must keep that amp u will need a 4ohm svc or d2 sub (wired to 4ohm) sealed with low power just isn't gonna be loud., are u going for sound quality or as loud as u can get cause if so ported is louder.. some prefabs aren't to horrible at least with power u have, as long as it has correct airspace.. found 2 ok ones on ebay but idk if u can get them shipped where u are..

Sorry what I'm not quite sure.

So what's recommended?

you have a prefab ported box currently?..
I got everything used so not sure, I do think it's one of those prefab you build yourself. But I planned on getting a new prefab box because my current one I think it's shaky and not solid built anymore and cause of some non deep bass.

I'd say stay away from a sealed box... you are running a low power substage and probably a larger ported box will give you the most bang for your money... any pics of the box?

May I know meaning of low power sub-stage? Is it because I only have 400 watts RMS. If so it's still pretty a lot of bass. I feel it nice you know.
