Recommended rms for this sub?

Hey guys my brother gave me his sub and image dynamics 12idv.3 and the recommended rms for this sub is 250 i think. I have an kicker amp that gives out 550 watts. Do you guys think 550 watts will blow this sub or if i can turn the gain down and just play it.

If you ask this question. Turn the gain ALL THE WAY DOWN

The sub is a 2ohm version wired in series, bridge at 4ohms to 550watts.

That is a very clean sub but they dont take a ton of power, i would becareful not to blow the sub with that much power that you have.
