Recommended Amps for Type R 12"

Just wondering some good recommendations for my 12" sub I recently purchased. I have the Alpine SWR-1222D Type R. It is a 2ohm + 2 ohm subwoofer. I would like to keep my budget below $300 if possible, any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

autotek 500.1, powerbass asa 600.2 both can be had for under 175 shipped and are both underated. solid amps that will last a long time

why dont you check ebay, alot of amps between the 600-1000 watts can be had for less than $300 n00b

id go with an alpine mrd-m1005, can be had on ebay around 300-320..

isn't the hifonics 1606ds too much power for the type r? it is listed at over 1000 watts rms, isn't that dangerous going so far over the subs listed rms running power?

no, you can always lower the gain if the sub seems to be stressed out....

like the person said above, he ran an R off nine.1 without any problems...

Rs been known to take a double their rating without problems
