Recommendations: Single 10" Ported or 12" Sealed? What would you do?

I'd do a ported 10. Maybe an Fi Q?

That's what I have now, and with the dimensions that the OP provided, he will not get much output from it. My box is 32x14x8.5"

I am thankful for all the advice, but now it gets even more confusing. One person says get a 10" ported, another says I can get away with a 12" ported in a smaller enclosure and then another in a sealed 12"? Am I providing enough info and specs?

Options are options. Just pick one and go with it. We all sometimes wish we had gotten something better later on but, if you keep waiting and wondering....

What kinda car? how much power and what ohm load?

Its a 2010 A4 and I don't mind going 2 or 1 ohm and I originally looked at getting something like the MB Quart 1500.1

If you want to get loud ported is the way to go 10" or 12"

It depends on the sub you pick as to which will be best for the space you have to work with(10" or 12")

With my dimensions I'm looking to get as low bass as possible. I want the least amount of depth and space taken up if I do go ported....

dont go sealed if you want low bass but if trunk space is an issue go with a 10. there are plenty 10's that dont need a big box and can hit great lows. i would go with a 10 although a 12 would sound a bit louder

sealed is generally better SQ than ported and it is easier to build so there is also that aspect

An ae av 12 can be used in 1-1.5 cubic feet ported and they will be loud and low and top notch sound quality

also this Dayton RSS265HO-4 10" Reference HO Subwoofer 4 Ohm | Parts-Express.com and ssa dcon 10 can both be used .7 ported

dayton ho 12, ssa dcon can be used as little as 1.5 ported

Between the Dayton HO 12, SSA Dcon, the New Icon, the Shiva X2, Sundown Sa, AE AV 12, the Nightshade, and the Fi Q...What would would be the top choice for my situation? I read a lot of great things about all of these. Are there any particular advantages or disadvantages? It all comes down to saving space, accuracy and getting low.
