Recommendation for rear fill speakers off of HU

I'm using my amp to power my front components and sub. I was planning on using my HU to power my rear speakers for fill. I have a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X791 HU and it is rated 22 watts RMS per channel (50 peak). I bought a set of Infinity 6022i speakers for the rear fill. The 6022i speakers are rated 60 watts RMS (180 peak). While the 6022i speakers sound very nice clearly this is not enough power to make them sound great. I knew this might happen but I thought I would give it a shot. There is very little low end. I left one factory speaker in left rear door and one of these in right rear door and compared them. While the 6022i sounded a lot better than the factory speaker the factory speaker did provide a lot more low end.

I'm looking for recommendations on 6 1/2" speakers that will sound better than factory speakers powered from the HU. Hopefully I can find a speaker running off of the HU that will have more low end.

Thanks!

I figured there would be replies about not having rears...

I mostly agree. I hardly hear my rear speakers and that is the way I like it. It is more for my passengers. I have to fade to -3 or -4 before I hear them at all now. When I fade completely to fronts though I do not like it as much. I would like a more fuller range set of speakers for the rear. My thinking is that if I get a good speaker that is only rated 30 - 35 watts RMS it will give me fuller sound off of my HU. I think my mistake was getting speakers rated 60 watts RMS. Is there any truth in this theory? Ones that I think might work better for rears off of HU include:

Boston Acoustics S65 (35 watts RMS)

Kenwood KFC-1662S (35 watts RMS)

Pioneer TS-G1643R (30 watts RMS)

Pioneer TS-A1672R (35 watts RMS)

Thoughts?

...I remember you now...

As a general observation, coaxes with lower power ratings tend to be more sensitive, hence more easily driven by HU power. As you seem to be asking about tonal balance, there's no real correlation. FWIW, I'd go for the Bostons. Good luck.

Powered by a HU? Eggcellent idea. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif
My buddy ran 2 sets of 2 ohm JBLs front and rear in his car off an Alpine HU with no issues for over a year. I guess it depends on the HU. Some are 2 ohm capable, some aren't. I know my 800PRS is not.

Why even bother trying to find out if one's idea of sonic competence hinges on a similar set of constraints, when there are many other options.

I personally feel he should ditch the rears and never look back. I got rid of mine and have been enjoying no rear fill since. It was probably one of the best moves I've made. With a good enough front stage, you'll never need any rear speakers.

Thanks, that is what I was looking for.
