my friend just got two 12's kenwoods not sure which but they hit really hard and hit kidna dirty bass so to say. but they hit VERY hard

the subs i want for my car i want to be really really good SQ. How would i go about this? would a smaller sub give me more clarity? say a 10" will sound cleaner than a 12?

What would i look at to know how clean a sub will hit?

Any suggestions?

edit: i don't need them to hit HARD but id still like them to somewhat "hit"

smaller has nothing to do with clarity by the way.

I would do an IDQ if you want good output with SQ

maybe even a PG RSD if you are on a budget

a lot of it is going to be in the box design along with your crossover settings and such as far as clearing up the bass.

budget is no more than $1000 that is including the amp.

All i have is a trunk to put these in.

thx for the replies so far hopefully that info can help us a little more

X2 ID and PG make fantastic stuff. I like my type-x too, awesome SQ sub. Bit pricey though.
