An average head unit should have a standard 16bit digital to analog converter. Or higher...what is 24bit burr brown? and what makes it desirable?and same for the 13-16eq band?
what does an "average" head unit have compared to those options also?
Burr brown to my understanding is a high grade digital to analog converter.
Head units have EQ's ranging from 0 (noeq)-31 bands (p99rs) - Average is about 7-10, for SQ decks.
But you have to be careful because some decks only have EQ presets which means you cannot change individual frequencies. But you can select a predetermined setting for Rock, Jazz, Rap, etc.
Parametric eq's have a set number of EQ bands, but you can select the bands that need adjustment.
Example the eclise has a 7 band eq but you can program the first band to adjust 63, 80, or 100 hz; the other eq bands have 3 options as well.
