Recommend a sub to go with my tx1008d and a corolla s

I'm planning on buying a Corolla Type S soon and want to upgrade my subs. I currently have a Kicker s10l5 in a box tuned at 35hz running at 4 ohms hooked up to my Hifonics Titan TXi1008D (here) which specs are

TXi 1008D 1000-Watt D-Class

1 x 350-Watts RMS @ 4-Ohms

1 x 700-Watts RMS @ 2-Ohms

1 x 1000-Watts RMS @ 1-Ohm

Basically, the kicker just isn't loud enough for me and doesn't hit the lows like I would like.

I don't know if it matters, but the deck I am using is the Kenwood X891.

I would like a sub for around $300, $350 at most including a ported enclosure preferably tuned at 25hz. I want a sub that hits lows nicely.

I basically want SPL but enough SQ so it doesn't sound completely sloppy. I don't want it to be loud and sound like crap. I would prefer a 12" over 2x 12". I'm going to be using it for rap mainly.

Would having a sub at 1000w at 1ohm sound better or worse than the 750w at 2ohms? If it would sound the same, please recommend a sub running at 1000w at 1ohm, please.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

haha that's what I'm talking about. The enclosure my sub is in now barely plays any notes in Blueberry Yum Yum.

Does anyone on here build custom boxes or know of a good website? I tried WinISD before but I am horrendously bad at math.

What does Fi Q stand for (I know, dumb question) but I googled it and couldn't find an official website.

x2!! get a Fi q 15" or 18" if you can fit it, dont tune that low though, the Q's are low end monsters and should be tuned to 30-35ish.

Thanks everyone. After seeing a video of the 12" Fi Q playing soul survivor, I was immediately sold. This thing sounds like a monster.

Quick question though. So I want to run it at 1 ohm. Should I get a 1ohm DVC or a 2ohm DVC.

Edit: Also, what's BP Power?

2 ohm DVC when you parallel the 2 (2ohm) Voice coils you get your 1 ohm out of it.

Does Fi have a website??????

thats the SSA link to them

Bp power

This is a quote from Scott on the SSA forum about the Q with BP option:

"There is a little spec change on the drivers as we are adding a little more suspension stiffness (although we are swapping stiff spiders out for more soft ones too). The subs stay a little closer to their original suspension values and have a slightly increased qts, fs, and reduced vas. Not too much of an issue and I have found it to be beneficial in most bassrace setups.

Now this is not something for everyone and I dont think that most people need to add it. But we are getting more and more bassrace applications where being able to stack more power to ge the sub to its linear limits for a specific application requires more than the rated RMS power (often quite a bit more) and this option allows you to push things a little harder for some applications. If you are looking for a SQ setup or just a clean daily setup within the normal limits of the subs... then there is no point.

Would I recommend it to someone with 1200W in a daily driver? I doubt it as it really wouldnt be needed and the extra 200W really isnt an issue. Its the guys that are trying to stack on 1800W and push them as hard as possible for 30 seconds (or try to all day) while voltage starts to drop and things start to get ugly towards the end."

check thsi video out too

Figured it'd be better to bump this thread than start a new one.

Does anyone on the forum make enclosures for Fi Q 12" or know of any reliable sites?
