Im hoping its not the amp itself.Exact model of the sub - maybe on the box or whoever gave it to you may remember. Otherwise, you can pull out the sub and it'll say. If things like tapping the amp turn the sound back on, that's an indication of a bad amp.
Are you absolutely sure it's the 124? Because there's also a 122. Makes a huge difference.Oh, im hoping its not the amp but it could be. I linked the sub

If it's 4 ohm, you can run it in bridged mode. If it's 2 ohm, you have to run it just off the 1 channel. If you're bridging it, make sure you're wiring it correctly - connect pos speaker wire to pos of ch 1, connect neg speaker wire to neg of ch 2.You are right, I need to pull the speaker out of the enclosure tomorrow morning to check, if it was the 2ohm instead of the 4ohm model what should my action be?
I will check in the morning, Does it matter which channel for positive or negative because mine does says left and right not ch1 ch2If it's 4 ohm, you can run it in bridged mode. So I checked and it is the 4ohm however I feel like I'm. Fighting the cables to get the sound to be clear (Un plugging then plugging) and I finally got it to a point where it's all okay. I didn't bridge it but if I mess with it now I'm feeling it's gunna get worse again. Do you think it's the amp or can it just be the ports or the red black inputs on the enclosure?Nope.
You said sometimes the sound gets weaker and you tap the amp, then it starts hitting harder...probably the amp then. You can check all the wiring, including both sides of the terminal cup, but as long as the connections are solid - should be fine. It's really not uncommon for stuff like this to happen to these amps and that's why we don't buy them. If the amp has been performing for a while now, you guys have gotten the value out of it already. So I checked and it is the 4ohm however I feel like I'm. Thanks again
Yeah, you just need a small amp. What are you trying to spend? That's cool thanks for your help I'll see what happens with the current set up and I'll probebly buy a new amp soon. Is there an amp that you would recommend to decently power the sub I have?
