Rear fill

So I have 6x9 Pioneer 3 ways on the rear deck of my Camaro. They are very loud, and bright and pull the soundstage rearward which is not what I want. How about if I use them as midbass only? I can HPF them at 80 on my head unit, then LPF them at 180 on the amp. Subs are at LPF 80. Then I will HPF the mids on the dash at 180.

Is this a good idea?

get rid of rear fill completely.

U can try messing with amp settings but like they said, my last car I ran 75 rms to each front speaker removed rear speakers and used the 6x9 rear deck holes kinda as a port to let sub bass from trunk into car., other option is buy some really bad cheap speakers (not ones with dome tweeters) I mean like factory replacement speakers they have at walmart or something for between $8-$12 each that have the paper cone stuck to them basicly just a mid.. maybe best thing to do is run amp to front speakers and run rear speakers from deck power so doors should get at least 3 times the power..

I like rearfill. Gives a surround sound effect if you set everything up properly.Put some power up front on the doors will help out, and go with a mid in the rear or sub 6x9s rather than 3-way/4-ways,2-ways with like a 1/2" tweet.I had a 79 RS and didnt have an issue

I did put 6x9 in the kickpanels which gives me lots of mid bass. So here is what I did last night and it seems to have helped but I sure wish I had someone local to give a listen as I don't really know what it should sound like!

Front and rear 6x9's on the rear channel of a 4 channel amp - so I can cross them independently of the front channel. 63hz HPF (head unit only has 50/63/80/100/120). On the amp I then set this channel at 250hz LPF (as high as it can go unfortunately on this amp). So the 6x9's are now band passed and I do NOT hear the tweeters anymore. Now I can hear the dash speakers! Next, I crossed the 4" coaxials in the dash vents at 120 HPF on the amp. So the fader controls the HEIGHT of the soundstage now. The 12" sealed subs were at 80hz but 100hz sounds much louder now so that is where they are set. I am pretty happy with this. Tweeters are on front top of door panels and passively crossed at 3k. This needs to be amped I can't hear them well.

Am I on the right track on my tuning?

Music is not recorded in surround. So no you don't get a effect because it don't exist. Unless you have surround upmixer. Even then it only works on some songs.

As for getting cheap speakers. NO. They will have a rolloff and it will ****
