still relatively new to all this.

ok, this is my situation - i am running 2 pioneer premier subs (both do 1000wrms, actually getting about 400-500wrms) w/ a performance teknik icbm class-d 3000.

i plan on getting 1 or 2 desent amps for the subs, and as-is my lights are dimming pretty badly. i am currently running a single 4 ga. power line to the trunk (plan on upping that to 1/0 when i get the $$). anyway, i got a hold of a (free) used batt that i want to throw in. is it ok to just use the 4 ga for now?...or is it a bad idea?

edit: i have a cap in-line that i want to get rid of - one reason for adding that batt

As long as you properly fuse the 4 awg wire, it should be fine to run. Just know that using smaller than recommended wire will drop your voltage due to added resistance. You also should equalize your batteries with jumper cables or something similar prior to installing it in the rear with the 4 awg wire.
