After i took out a couple of my old orion amps and hooked them up a few months ago for a listen, i got hooked once again. I planned on doing a nice build with just some orion gear. I sold off all my other stuff and got alot of my old equipment going again. Plus a few more purchases. Anyway now that i got out of the daze i started to think about how im going to power this shit. My plans were to get a 200-250 amp alt, and maybe 4 batts. Now im gearing twords a 300 amp and 5-6 batts. Mind you im building a daily driver lmao, at least thats what i started out to do. So im just wondering what some people's input is. My current set-up consists of
4- Orion 2250's. Each will run at a 2ohm mono load, maybe around 1500 watts each.
2- Orion HCCA 225's. Each at 4ohms stereo, 25-50 watts each.
1- Orion HCCA 250. 100watt at 2ohm stereo load.
1- Orion XTR2150. 150watts in 4ohm stereo, or 300 in 2ohm stereo. Havent decided on wich yet.
Basically if you know the older orions, they are current HOGS. Each amp will have a custom amp box, houseing 12volt fans. Ill have about 18 or more fans running, so thats added to the current draw. Not much i suppose, but its still factored in. Ive seen some really nice comp vehicles but they are LOADED with batts, and thats something i dont want to do. I was planning on taking an older neon and making a project car out of it, with all of this. Running only 2 MT 15's. Maybe 4, but 2 is what i have right now. But since im an audio nut, broke, the neon would be a daily car to drive as well.
