Real quick type r question?

What is the difference between a 1222 and a 1242 i know the dual 4 ohm you have to run a 2 ohm or a mono block amp but with the dual 2 ohm what kind of amp do you have to run. So what kind of amp could i run with the dual 2 and if the dual 4 better. Could i ude the directed audio 1500d for the dual 2 or the viper 1100 for the dual 2???

dual 2 can just run off of a 2 ohm amp if you wire them in a series it can run to 1 ohm that is if you have two of them.

Also just get a orion 1200d perfect with that tcab box you have

Dual 2 to a 2 ohm would be not wiring it down to 1 ohm to the amp correct it would be each individual + - on the sub to each + - on the amp. With 2 subs you could wire it down to 1 ohm on the amp..?

2 dual 4s will wire 2 1ohm and 2 dual 2 would wire to 2ohm and could also wire it down to .5ohm. no big diff in teh subs, juss depends on wha amp ya gonna be running, and go fromt here.

So if i bought 2 dual 2 ohm i would wire it down to 1 on the orion 1200 and if i had just 1 dual 2 i could wire it all individually correct. individually i mean + - and +- on sub would go to + - + - on amp but the orion 1200 only has single + - inputs... so would i cross it over on the sub how would i wire 1 dual 2 to a 2ohm amp?

I'm running my two Type Rs with an Orion 1200D wired at .5 ohms and they sound great. I got my Orion from eBay pretty cheap too.

man some people shouldn't be giving advice. dual 2 ohm VC (one sub) needs to be wired in parallel (not series) for a one ohm load.

basically, the difference in the voice coils is to match an amp. so depending on the amp, you would want different configurations.

thats wha i said, 2 dual 2s=2ohms or .5ohms

2 dual 4s=1ohm

1 dual 2=1ohm

1 dual 4=2ohm

that would be a crossover right positive to neg then run it off the neg to the amp and do the same crossover the other pos to neg and run the pos off of it to the amp correct. Visual decrip woul dbe awsome....
