Hello, i just ordered a RE8 with the 4ohm dvc and have a jbl gto75.4 amp. The amp puts out around 100w x 4 @ 4 ohms, 140w x 4 @ 2 ohms and 280w bridged at 4 ohms. 2 of the channels power components and i want to power the sub off of it too.
My main question is can i hook up 2 channels to the sub, one for each coil, as long it is the same signal going to each coil? Would 100w to each coil be too much? Would i be better off Using one channel and wiring the sub in parallel for 140w @ 2 ohms?
you'll got almost the same thing.but i prefer to use one channel amps each coil...I depends how big is your sub and power handling...but i thing, the sub is strong enough to driven by 100 watts GTO...
