RE SX's need 2000wrms?

Ok my dude is argueing with me that the new style SX's 12" need at least 2000 wrms to really get moving....i strongly disagree especially in a ported box. i say a good box and 1000 watts is enough. Opinions?

You could prolly send it 2k in controlled situations, but not daily IMO.

Next door neighbor Fawd06 had 2 SX 15s and giving them a 40.1 daily.

But no you dont need 2000 watts to get them loud...1000 is plentyyy

i have put 3000rms to a single 12 re sx at comps,but for daily a k is perfect.

there was a HC now there is a SX, but it hasnt changed in a few years

The SX line is similar to the SSD line with the flatwind coil option (same cone, spiders, and coil when the flatwind option is added in). It uses 1 less magnet, but has similar motor strength. The BL in standard form can take more physical abuse than the SX can due to the increase number of spiders in the pack. Then it can be upgraded with options from there.
SXs are rated at 1000W RMS. I would never be able to make them take 2500W on a daily basis... SPL yes, but daily they simple dont have the thermal capacity (or mechanical) to do so. We really dont recommend our top line BTL for more than 2500W daily for most applications as well (although everyone seems to push them with more than that).

basically this years line of SX's...never had one or saw one so i don't if they changed design when the XXX changed or not
