couldn't tell you which would be louder as I have never heard the memphis pr's, but from experience I know that the sx 15 gets real loud and that amp should push it decently

4 12s vs 1 15??? well for one thing the 4 12s easily have the 15 beat in displacement, so by that fact the should be louder, because 4 12s have more than twice the cones area of 1 15, 4 12s ported would also need a bigger box

my sx 15 get's louder than the other kid in town with two w7's... (his are sealed tho) just to give you an idea of how loud this one sub gets... the jbl will push it more than well...

Maybe a coin flip?...Would have to know the vehicle, box volume, tuning, etc. to even think about quessing which would be louder.

Given that both are going to be using the same kind of box, it wouldnt even be close. 4 12s would win hands down. Its not really even a fair comparison.

It looks that way but Im still not quite sure about that.

memphis PR's get pretty **** loud with the little wwattage they are rated at

All I'm going to say is:

Sd of (4) 12's = 480 cm^2 * 4 = 1920 cm^2

Sd of (1) 15 = 810 cm^2

and then you factor in excursion capabilities. The (4) 12's will win in a landslide victory.
