Kinda a there a topic thats been here a lot but i cant find a really specific answer

I have a 1996 explorer, im pretty sure 130 alt, budget isnt really a problem

I have been looking to get a sub and i keep ending up looking at

1 15" Kicker L7 or 1 15" RE SX

I have a whole truck area for a box, i plan on porting it, and goin for spl

And say both were powered with 1000rms,

Any ideas which would do better? help me out here im kinda stuck.. other sub ideas would be good too

i have no idea.i have never heard the l7's or l5's
im not saying anything bad man, dont worry. Im just saying in general, as everyone knows, much like yourself, the proper sound is all install oriented. Build the right box, tune it correctly, use a quality amp, and your good to go. And I think this works in almost ALL, if not all, applications.

tough choice actually. I know the RE SX's can handle more then 1000RMS, and can handle more power then the L7's, but the L7's are pretty notorious for sounding like *** and getting loud
and honesly, post like this is EXACTLY why, regurgitated stories............they can be loud, or sound great......always install dependant.

well if u pay'd attetnion to my posts earlier u will know that i ran the 15" L5's and L7's and all honesty neither of those subs sound like shit! imo they actually sound **** GOOD! the L5's and L7's can get dumb loud im not taking anything from them, but now that i got Sx's and ran the L5's and L7's i personally think that the RE SX's are an better woofer and have been proven to get LOUD!!!!!! so like tracy said its all install dependant! but everything being equal each sub in its optium enclouser reciving optium power my vote goes too the SX's these some bad *** woofers hands down!

I am sick of these threads, either one can be better than the other. Power, box, car.....I mean come on, you cant go wrong with either choice and you wont be disappointed in either. Just shop around for a used one and get whichever you can get the best deal on......//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

exactly, and I would also like to say that the L7 has superb sq imo, as long as you know what your doing and can put it in the proper enclosure then you cant go wrong.......................

sx is more like a sql sub and square kickers are just plain spl that sounds like crap from what i here

Leave this thread right now because you obviously have no experience with the woofers in question, the sx is far from an sql sub and the kickers are far from spl, your logic is flawed and you should kill yourself for mis-informing others with your in-experience //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

cblaze-atleast you admitted in your later posts that you havent used the l7's, sry if I flamed you
