Re Sx Or Xxx W/ Old Power Bd1000a1

Hello I currently have an older fosgate power bd1000a1 and was looking for some advice on a sub. I am looking at the RE SX and XXX. I have been hearing the XXX has better sound quality which has me wanting to purchase it. However I was wondering if you guys thought the SX would be a better match for my amp. I haven't been able to hear the subs neither. There is only one place in my state which was 2 hours away and some rinky dink shop that didnt even have any subs boxes, they were just sitting on shelves. So I was hoping to get a little more input on SQ comparisons for them. I listen to mostly rap and some rock. I know there are already posts out there with this question, and I've read them. I am just looking for some more input. I am also fairly new the car audio and was wondering if you could tell me which specs I should look at and what they mean to decide which was best for me as well. I have looked up the defitions of all the terms before and //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif the definitions made no sense to me. I have also never been a fan of 15"s however I see alot of you have them. Do the RE 15s sound a lot nicer than most 15s out(ie. brands u guys love //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/suave.gif.858fc102f7646e678ee8af7e1fbc41d1.gif RF JL Alpine etc.) , and compared to the 12s? Any advice would be much apprciated.

I have heard an RE XXX 18" and Ive gotta say that IMO, it had the best sound quality i have heard in a sub. Their subs are all very good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have heard an 18" XXX and it responded like a 10" Sub and sounded close to perfect.

So do you think my 1000a1 has enough power to push a 15 XXX? Do you guys know how many watts RMS were being pushed to the XXX you heard? Also were they in a sealed or ported box?

Hello again I've been doing some more research and have been looking into the Brahma as well. I hear it is similiar to the XXX-in some ways(NOT TRYING TO START ANOTHER XXX VS BRAHMA THREAD I'VE READ ENOUGH OF THEM) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/toast.gif.bc0657bf54b9ee653b6438524461341e.gif . I've been reading that the power handling on the brahma is totally dependent on box size. I remember my buddy saying something about box size and power before. So I assume this would go for the XXX. If I made a big enough box would my bd1000 be able to push the XXX to its max??? I was also wondering if some people could give their advice on the XXX vs. Brahma. Preferablly only those who have heard both or at least 1. From what I've been reading I hear that the Brahma is a lil more SQ based than the XXX, but the XXX will get louder w/ say 1k watts. Is this true or have I been misinformed? Do both subs perform equally well in sealed box as well as ported?? Don't know which way I will go, but if one does better sealed and vice versa I guess I will need to factor that too.
