RE SX 15" vs Alpine Type R 15"

RE SX. It will sound better, and takes more power.
Why is power handling so important? If two subs are nearly identical in output I would prefer to have the sub that can do the most with the least. I, and others have found the R to be a very efficient sub.

I was just saying that I think the SX is rated to handle higher RMS than the Type R. I was unclear in my first post.

Between by 15" Type-R and an 18" SX, i didnt notice an audible difference in loudness (they were ran at APROX the same power, 1100RMS)

However, the SX sounded worlds better than the R did. You could tell that the R was getting a workout, and the SX laughed at 1100RMS

i hope that helps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

One thing that you may want to take into account is recone-ablity (I think I just made a new word). If you blow the R you have to buy a new one. If you blow the SX you can get it reconed, but I'm not sure on the cost of that.
