RE sx 15" vs. Alpine type r '05 15"

SPKRMAN... why don't you post vids of tests with RE, MTX, Kicker, JL, IA,ID, Ed, RF, Eclipse, PG, PPI, OZ, Adire, Ascendant Audio, Crystal Mobile Sound, Diamond Audio, Focal, Ground Zero, Kove Audio, Orion, Pioneer, Sound Splinter, Stereo Integrity, Treo, Memphis Car Audio???

Its just that it sounds very very biased, especially since almost all vids are Alpine. I know you have a couple different subs in the vids but most of them are Alpine. From the list above I would say 90% will get louder in the RIGHT ENCLOSURE, amplification, woofer size (motor strength vs cone mass), voltage input, fs of vehicle, vehicle integrity, amperage availability, and of course chrome.

Just try to be more:

objective (comparative more objective, superlative most objective)

Of or relating to a material object, actual existence or reality.

Not influenced by the emotions or prejudices.

Based on observed facts.

not dissing just offering some wisdom to further the TCAB business options.

People... I'm a competitor and I build boxes for a living.

Why the hell would I go around saying the type R works best in X situations if I hadn't done the testing.

The type R is on the right SX on the left... can someone honestly tell me, even at first glance, what the hell makes the SX a better woofer? If you can't see the differences at first glance, how about the HARDCORE NUMBERS in the test!

I test woofers for the business, I test woofers to find out what works. I ran the type R's at meca finals and WON... does that say *anything* to my credibility? If SX's were so much louder, why wouldn't I run them? Do you guys honestly think I have any backing or incentive from alpine? I use what works, I pass on that knowledge, and its not appreciated. The people that go with a TCAB box and setup the system through proven methods are VERY happy.

Geez... at this point, I'm just about done with putting my REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE into the pot. My THOROUGH testing falls short of some random people spouting out what they "think" "might" work due to an opinion formed solely on brand preference... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

To me its clear cut... better or not, PERIOD. That might step on some toes, but thats what being truly OBJECTIVE is all about.

That test doesn't mean a lot to me, dropping 2 different subs in to a single box and testing the numbers is not a good method of testing. The box could be more optimized to sub A and not work for crap with sub B. Put A and B in their optimized boxes and B could blow away A. Putting a Solo X 15 in a prefab 15L5 box isn't going to give you optimum results.

If R's work for you, use them, but please dont try to explain that they're the best subs for everyone.

STFU, nobody cares, your beating a dead horse, you want a cookie?

The box was within RE's rec's and not within the type R's rec's.

Maybe it was a terrible type R box and the best SX box?

At least I've had both woofers here and drawn opinions from actually listening.

Do a test in a reccomended box for the SX and the reccomended box for the R, and give them both the same power. That would be a more fair review/test.

How would it be more fair? The box for the R might not be the IDEAL box for it, but the SX might, or visa versa? Get what im saying? He tested both so get off his nuts and dont bother posting any of your mumbo jumbo bullshit with nothing but biased bullshit opinions to back your shit up...

Just to let you know I am not dissing R's! And by no means am I trying to say the SX is better. What I am trying to say is if you would post vids of optimum enclosures after many protos for every woofer, you would gain more credibility.

Look, Alpine finally did what Kicker did and built a "great" sub. Personally, I think they are the closest thing to the W6 sound available. I have even been thinking of getting a pair for sheer sq so I can switch from sq to spl when I want. I am not hating at all, you would just get more interest from a non biased looking web site. Are you in the business of selling R's or selling enclosures? Sell the box not the sub.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Again I say, the SX was in the RE rec'd box...

Was the type R in its "best" box? No, that was the first one I built...

I tell people what I know to work best in a given situation, period.

If the SX would have been the better woofer, nobody would have given that test a second look.

By the way I am building a new enclosure for my friends R tomorrow. He came over tonight and talked me into it. I will let you know what I think of the sound and I will be honest because I would rather people spend the money on what performs best. He went from an L7 12" 3.25 cu. @ 33 hertz and its hard to beat. The lows are insane. The trick is going lower than kickers recommendation. He blew the sub from it hitting stuff in his trunk and throwing the coils out of allignment. So "I" talked him into an R so I could see for myself. So far the lows sound awesome from the R but the L7 still owns it on the lows (and the higher notes). But I will keep you informed after the new enclosure.

Build a box to RE's specs for an SX. Burp

Get what I'm saying?
