RE sx 15" vs. Alpine type r '05 15"

I my experience with the SX it got **** loud.

Made my teeth chatter and ran my friends out of the car. However.....once it reaches high output and starts getting loud it loses SQ. Which really annoyed me at first. But thats just me...

You on the other hand may like it. Plus I trust RE a lot more than I do Alpine.

He's making a recommendation, besides the choices given.
I'm sure Tobias has never done this with the Type R's.

I'm a new guy... I pop into a type R thread and say "my type E's POUND.. my friends cant even sit in my car, and I knocked the rear view off my kia 6 times! I got 10 sound violation tickets! Buy type R!". Does that relate in any way to a type R? Does that in any way indicate how loud it actually is?

The guy used his 187 experience to rec an LI... same story.

Not trying to be an arse about it, but people need to realize what they are saying.

ive currently got a LI and SX...unfortunately havent hooked up my SX's yet so cant compare..but the LI is very impressive i was not expecting it to get as loud as it does and yea it still does sound very nice..i would however compare it more my SE's that i had before it and say if you were comparing those 2 itd be a toss up both are almost identicle to me...yea..i guess my point was LI gets loud and sounds good

Spkrman-

I'm glad you like the type r and are proud of your boxes, but reccomending them in every thread is what has made people start mocking you. Why do you care if somebody else reccomends a different sub? Because you can't sell one of your overpriced boxes for them??

The type is the biggest hype ever, for that reason in itself I'd get the SX. That and all of your provided circumstances I would pick the SX.

I am personally considering between 2 12''SE and 1 15''SX, and I was told the SX outperformed the 2 SEs all around. Because of the SE's SQ reputation, the SX obviously can't sound bad.

And honestly my 8''s are one of the best sounding setups I've ever heard. One of my friends with a 12dub7 even agreed they're about equal in sound quality. Another friend of mine who has 2 12'' type Rs said the REs sound much better and is considering a set of SE 12s when the group buy starts.

Then again, if you dont buy TCAB and type R your setup will never sound good or be loud. 4 15'' MTs off of 10000rms? Bleh, TCAB's type R is louder.

Who says TCAB only makes boxes for type R's?

I've done the actual testing to back up my claims... what backup do you have?

The type R is flat out a better daily driver than the SX, and you have no legitimate reason to say otherwise.

Quit bein such a hater //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

SX is an SPL machine......it got ridiculously loud off 750-800 wrms ported tuned to 30 hz!

it was too much for me.....

decided to go SQ (Atlas)

depends on what you consider an spl machine. lol

well...you could hear me 2 blocks away or so.....it got very deep and loud....everything rattled

I didnt like it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

well....I guess Im not into bass as much as these guys around my way

I am getting sick and tired of the ******* type R....honestly. Parade it around like it's the best subwoofer on the planet all you want, the truth is that in everyday situations there is a driver in each category that out performs it.

I never said TCAB is only for type Rs, and I have seen boxes for other subs, but the R is the sub that is pushed the most.

I'm glad you can claim you've done testing, I could claim I've done it too, but there's nobody to say that either of us actually have. Now I'm sure you haven't just stuck an R in a box and said it's loud though.

Read around, there's other people who flat out disagree about your claims, and so you get mocked for it.

And I'm going to be a hater as long as the Hype R is still being brought up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Swimfreak- I agree.

The simple matter is Skadude is right. I have owned both and have had the opportunity to test a lot of enclosures and power levels to both IA 187s and IA LIs. The IA LI is a lot like a 187, only with improved SQ and output. A "big brother" to the 187 in every way I can think of. Sure, in the case of Type E to Type R the similarities are few and far between, but he wasn't talking about Alpine. =)
