RE SE users, I need some input!

First off Im sorry if this is a repeat but I need to find out soon.

I decided for my sub(s), that I would get 12" RE SE('s).

I was thinking of doing 2 12" SE's sealed, since its my first box and all, and because I don't think I have enough room in my trunk to port 2 of those SE's.

But then I thought about doing just 1 SE ported to the low 30s since I listen to rock just as much as I do with rap.

What do you guys think I should go with?

More info- I have a 99 Maxima

PS-If I went with 1 SE ported, would it be enough to make my body feel like jello? LOL

if you like to listen to a decent amount of rock, i think you'd be happier with the 2 sealed se's as they should be more punchy than the single se ported.

just do 2 sealed, you can always move to ported. and im sure you can fit two ported in a maxima. them trunks are QUITE large (i had a rental car recently)

by the way, 3 cubes MAX after displacements will be the ported size. you can fit it no problem.

SE's are ~1.2ish ported. so figure 2.4 cubes + port and sub displacement. quite possible man.

How much room should I give the SE's in a sealed box? I talked to someone and he drew up a box for me, each SE having 1.07 cubes i believe, is that the right amount?

I had my SE in cube for a while, and it sounded "ok". it had very good SQ but wasn't loud enough for me. I'm workin on a new box that will be 2 cubes tuned to about 33hz or so. I'll give you my input once I'm done.

btw, I just have a single SE.

SEs ported are 1.8^3 a piece tuned to 32hz...

you will be happier with 2.1^3 tuned to 32hz...

output on 2 SEs sealed is about the same as 1 SE ported...

i think the single one ported sounded better overall... and

it was plenty good for everything from rock to rap...

btw... i actually owned 2 SEs and tried all these configs

either way im probly gonna get 2 SE's, so when i move down the road in car audio, i can eventually port them.

so for 2 SE's sealed, I should give them each about 1 cube?
