Port my Koda 10?

Hey, I have a Koda 10 on its way to me right now. I need to know if I should port it or seal it.

From day 1 I've been all about SQ, so naturally, I've never even given a ported box a second thought.

BUT! things change...today I listened to a guy at my school who just got a pair of 10w6 JL's sealed running off of 1100 watts. These things sound fantastic and get real loud.

This makes me want to port my box. Dilemna...am I going to lose much in the way of SQ? I want to get the most SPL out of my sub.

Some of you are asking yourselves, why not a brahma little buddy? Answer: I only have 230w RMS to work with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif .

I listen to mostly hard rock/punk/metal, with the odd dabble in techo/hip-hop.

Will I still have excellent SQ and punch if I go ported? If so, how big/tune it to...?

Space isn't a big issue either.

Thanks in advance guys.

If you go ported you will not lose much if any SQ but definatly gain spl. the great thin about porting boxes is the ability to tune boxes to certain HZ. and with you listening to rock a lot you'll get a "punchy-er" sound out of a ported box. PM me if you would like a box designed.
