i sent an e-mail 3 weeks ago and still no answer. i guess they only lost out on $465 of my money. wait a minute they have been a small company for about a year now. i guess there just isn't anybody qualified to type a message that says how much a woofer costs, or what type of enclosure. i have never seen a company that just chooses not to answer e-mails, and then the owner is on the forums hocking amps and being rude to potential customers when he could be answering e-mails.

And to zach- they have 'options' because they actually have the availability to regularly get different impedance coils, as well as different coil materials, spiders, dustcaps, etc., for their subwoofers. I can call Dave and ask for the wackiest things you can put together, and he'll most likely have the resources to do so.

i have e-mailed rockford, phoenix gold, orion, soundsplinter, stereo integrity, adire, incriminator audio, ascendant audio, elemental designs and have received responses in a reasonable time from all those companies. i want to start my own business in the near future and i cannot believe a company posts 2 e-mail address for questions, and doesn't respond and claims it's not a priority. then when i try calling to place an order i can never get ahold of anybody via telephone. why can't they hire someone to sit in front of a computer screen for 8 hours a day answering e-mails? if they are so swamped with business then they should have the funds to hire someone. hell they can hire me. they can direct all there e-mail to me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

What a novel thought.

I know a lot of you dont like when RE isnt held in a Godlike view, but if another company has shitty service, everyone jumps them, so why is this any different?

RE has great products, but thats the extent of it.

And iceteebone, you make it sound so difficult to get that info from them, yet their website is filled with enclosure info, they have and will put engineers on the phone to explain an issue (try that with RF), etc. Last I read, they receive hundreds of emails a day (yes hundreds for this 'small' company). Do I like that they provide an email addy and then dont respond to it very well? Hell no, but I understand why (and no its not just out of laziness or to piss off iceteebone or zach). And if I decide I dont want to bother with that hassle, I can always run down to BestBuy or CircuitCity and buy some RF or Alpine gear.

i never said RE sucks because i will soon posses a 15" xxx. i'm just saying RE had the chance to make $400 off of me but couldn't because i could never get ahold of them and when i did, i got a foreign guy who hardly new what an xxx was. i mean i had to say it 3 times just to get a price. then dave comes on the forums and tells a customer not call them and has a rude tone with him. i just think it's a shame that a company that makes as good of products as RE does, has to have such shitty customer service. i know i'm only 1 person and only $400 and RE doesn't give a shit, but that's just sad. then you have all these RE *** kissers saying oh it's a small company. well that excuse is getting old now don't ya think? and then answering customers questions is not top priority? lol. i just hope i never have to get my xxx reconed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

You hope you never have to get your XXX reconed? hahahaha How about if someone needs their Alpine or RF sub reconed? Im sure they'd rather deal with a slow turn-around time rahter than having to simply toss it in the trash can like most other brand subs would require. Its funny you take a good service that RE provides (and many other companies dont) and try to turn it into a bad thing because you -think- it will take a long time if you ever need it. Your assumptions dont carry your arguement very far, sorry.

So they do, now people are pissy because he's not a tech. Uhm.... duh? But oh yeah, you'd rather call RF's 800 nmber, and you fully expect a tech who can answer any question will be the one answering the phone right? He wont have to transfer, or ask anyone else, he'll know it all, just for you iceteebone.

Lastly, you are doing nothing more here than flaming. This thread is not about RE's customer service, you and Zach simply are trying to turn it into that. The original poster asked if he could have a rebuild kit shipped to him and do the work himself. He did NOT ask how the service is, how it will take, blah blah blah. If you are going to 'inform' us how RE's customer service works, at least do it in a thread about it. Otherwise, you're just crapping all over this guy's thread with OT flames. Which is becoming more and more common with the RE haters around here. Get over it.

first off i would much rather deal with rockfords customer service. i had a blown 1001bd that i had fixed by rockford. 3 weeks turn around time. not too bad imo. i had an amp fixed by kicker, same deal. they answer the phone. when i called RE i didn't ask any technical question. all i asked was a price for an 18" xxx. the xxx is their flagship woofer and the dipshit hardly knew what an xxx was. that's not asking much. i can understand if he isn't a tech but i wasn't asking a tech question. if he isn't a tech or doesn't know prices what the hell good is he? you are the one who starts repling to my post and keeps this going. obviously by my title above my avatar you realize what you are getting into.

Are you saying the guy just told you he "barely" knew what it was, told you he had no info, told you he had no pricing, and told you to please hang up the phone now? Or is there a reason you are being so vague about how he treated you so badly? Did he hurt your feelings teebone?

You are equating a miscommunication between you and he, which lead to you having to tell him 3 times what you wanted, to RE having this massively terrible CS. Im making jokes because you acted all butt-hurt and vague, and when pressed what your actual issue was, your reply was that you had to repeat yourself a couple times. Its absurd. And you are backing it up with a thread that was resolved between the original poster and TeamPSI by TeamPSI verifying it was HIM whom he'd called. The original poster did not even contest this once he verified it was in fact him he'd tried calling, yet here YOU are doing so, as if it was fact. I guess TeamPSI was lying? Can't believe that everytime RE is mentioned with the word 'phone' or 'e-mail' somewhere in the thread that the thread turns into a flame fest on their customer service. Just pathetic.
