RE Question and New vs. Used

two sealed SE 15s vs. 1 ported XXX 15....which one takes the cake for sq and SPL?

Also, how much louder would two 15 xxx ported be compared to 1? Like 4-5 dB?

And lastly, are there downsides to buying two used subs to run together, but from different people? Like, someone might have played one harder or broke it in different...?

no transferrable warranty is the biggest downside of buying used...

also that you dont know how the previous owner treated it...

I meant if I were using two subs broken in at different periods and treated differently, if I ran them together...

one might have a looser suspension or something... but

after a little while of use im sure everything would even

out...

making the jump from SE's to XXX as well???

how are the 15" SE's... my 12"s sound great...

depends on install

in a perfect world and all variables the same, double the pressure equates to +3dba

depends on install... crazy kids.

oh and power and tuning and whatnot. The SE's might win in loudness due to more surface area but you never know what a porting will throw at you until you try. Power will play a factor also.

I believe the 15xxx would be louder, it can take alot more power than 2 se's, more excursion, its ported. My 2 cents
