Just got some random bazooka 12's, want to rebuild the box, its leaking air badly and the mounting screws holes are worn out.

The box internal dimensions (13 x 12 x 27.25) give each sub about 1.25 cu in of space. what would happen if i built a new box with these dims internal (13.5 x 13.5 x 29.75) about 1.56 cu in of space?

space isn't an issue for box size. do subs benefit (to a certain point) from having a little more space?

thanks

kyle

With sealed boxes, more space means higher efficiency and a shallower rolloff...at the expense of lesser mechanical power handling. So even though it'll be more efficient and have better low-end, it won't be able to physically handle as much power as a smaller box.

k i see, i went with (internal) 13.5 x 13.5 x 29.75 so about .25 cu in more per sub. will that be too noticeable? These are just a temp setup. i have an SAZ 2000d. so more so im just testing them and fixing them for my younger brother.

thanks again

i probably will, i really enjoyed making this first box. not quite done, just siliconed the seams, and need to cut the sub holes, and put the face on. so we'll see how well it goes lol, but i would like to try makin a ported box. so once i at least have this solid box set up, and good to go, ill probably start on that.

thanks so much btw, ill get back to you in a day or two and let you know if i failed or not lol
