Re audio se12 As a Passive raditor?

Yes, you could, but it may be difficult to remove the motor without screwing up the spyder. This is if the frame mounting screws are under it. If not, then knock yourself out.

Keep in mind though, that the general rule for passives is to make sure you have twice the amount of excursion for the passive as the sub. So, it may not be effective for you.

Best,

Mark

That shouldn't be too difficult actually. If he can keep the voice coil intact, he can fill the cavity with epoxy. All he has to do is weigh it beforehand.

Possible, but I'm not sure if epoxy would hold a bolt with weight added. In fact, I'm quite confident it won't. Besides, if he knows how much mass to add, why would it have to be adjustable? Just add the mass and call it a day.

Dunno. I guess I'm a boring guy. I set my PR build up and left it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I knocked off the magnet without damaging the voice coil

Can I use the pole that the magnet was on to add weigh?

or will i need to add some type of weigh at the bootm of the voice coil pole to prevent it from over excurtion

thanks for your help

why does Boston only use one PR at the same size for size without having any problems

I have heard the G5 & that funning oval shaped sub which sounds better that the re Se?
It is possible that the passive radiator they use has enough throw (upwards of double that of the active driver) that they don't need two units.

Regarding the pole, I can't see why not. Weigh it out and don't forget to include the weight of whatever you plan to secure it with.
