RE Audio L-Port question

I used the Re Box Calculator to make a box for a xxx12. I've made boxes before, but none with the L-port yet. When I finished with RE calculator the port width was 4 inches and the calculator says it's tuned to 33.6hz. The back part of the L-port will only leave a 2 inch opening and the whole L-port is 4 inches wide. It seems like that 2 inch opening at the back of the L and the Box Right Plate is not big enough? Will that cause any port noise? I'm talking about the opening right behind the sub where the air first starts to come out to enter the 4 inch L shape port. I also thought the xxx12 would need a bigger box?

Yes if you only have 2" clearance it would change the tuning. How do you only have 2" if its a L port, or is it 2" from the second obstruction? In that case you could make a 90 degree turn once again, but it will slow down your flow because of all the turns. Ports dont have to be entirely inside the enclosure, the port can stick out outside of the enclosure.

I think you guys don't understand what I am saying. Go to the Re site and input these numbers (BW 24, BH 18, BTD 24, BBD 24, WT 0.75, SPW 4.0, Sqare port lenght 16.5) and you will see what I'm saying. The tuning will come out to 33.6hz. Look at the box preview window and look at how small that opening will be right behind the subwoofer leading out into the 4 inch L-port. I had to do the math to find out that it was only 2 inches. I did the math because the box preview looked wrong. I might be wrong?

make the box wider, or make a smaller port. you dont need 20sq" of port per cube.

The wider and deeper I make te box makes the tuning too high according to the RE Calculator.

Its because you have so much port area. What size and tuning are you looking for? What kind of car is it going in?

How accurate can that box calculator be when it doesn't even ask for sub displacement?

with a single 12 disp shouldn't effect tuning much, your tuning frequency shouldn't raise more than 1hz after tuning.

Just make the box w/a tuning .5-1hz below what you want, possible more depending on how much bracing, if any your going to use.

i read on another forum that RE-calculator is off 2-3 tunig hz.what i mean is say if the box is tuned to 33 with re,then its actually going to be around 35-36
