Rd Audio Amps?

according to the website...http://www.rdaudio.net/amps/rd2200.php....that is drastically overrated!

thank you for finding that. i'm actually very pissed about this because when i bought the amp i was told it would do 2200 at 1 ohm but on several occasions i've seen sales reps claim 1700 rms. i was lead to believe i would get the full 2200 at 1 ohm and about 1700 at 1.5 ohms.

For what it's worth (not much), I would have gone with RD if I hadn't gone with Sundown. I definitely will go RD in the future when I want to change things up.

I have seen alot about RD Audio on this forum and I read that the SH's are better than the APXX's. So I was wondering about their amps. Are they any good, meaning do they do rated power, are they reliable, etc.. Also where might I be able to find these amps? I am very interested in the 2200.1, the only thing is that it is fused at 120A, unless it has more fuses internal, so I do not see how it can do 2200RMS. Also if anyone has exp. with these amps let me know, such as bench tests, or pics of amp guts would be appreciated. Just any info on these amps because I know Atomic put out a good product and RD Audio appears pretty similiar just upgraded.

It is true that they will not due their rated power. the amps are rated at 14.4 and are a little overrated but that is a different statement compared to the new line of RD amps. the 2200.1d is discontinued and the only way you will be able to pick one up is off a for sale ad.

Ill hopefully be testing the 3250 here soon in the next month or 2

i should be receiving a 3250.1d in the next week or so.

as some of you might know the amp boards are originated from zenon these are the same board used in Atomic, Sundown, and RD so you can expect similar performance out of them.

When RD audio first came out they never intended to sell amps. they where only offered too people who wanted to run all RD equipment. When local business blew up they decided to re-think their strategy and offer a more powerful underrated amp built the best the could be.

So you should expect alot more performance out of the new line of amps than the old line.

the new line includes 800.1 1000.1 1750.1 3250.1 5750.1 and talk of a 7000.1

Ok I kno this thread is old but I just bought an rd 2200.1...I payed $290 shipped for mine and really didnt wanna spend more than $325. It should be here tuesday. Would u say that is prolly the most power I can get for the price? I was going to buy another bx2005d but the rd looks like a more solid amp...not saying that hifonics isnt. Its good cheap reliable power.

btw, would u say the 2200.1 and bx2005d put out about the same power???

the bx2005d does have the 2 gauge power n ground inputs.....
